Cricket
It is generally assumed that the game of cricket was first played in the 13th century. The game developed to its present form in the 18th and 19th century. The first test match was played in March 1877 between England and Australia at Melbourne, and was won by Australia. There are 9 main international teams in world cricket: Australia , England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Cricket is the national sport of Barbados and the West Indies. Barbados is the home of cricket legend Sir Garfield Sobers. You can watch a good game of cricket virtually any time in Barbados. Whether an international Test Match or One-Day at Kensington Oval, a local First Division match, or a casual game amongst friends.

Polo
Polo is quite possibly the world's oldest team sport and was originally played over 2,000 years ago by nomadic warriors. Played from Constantinople to Japan, by the Middle Ages polo was invaluable in the training of Cavalry. In Samarkand the polo grounds of Tamer lane are still visible. The British first witnessed the game in India in the early 1800s and it has since gained immense popularity all over the world.
To watch a Polo match at Holder's Hill is a delight. The atmosphere and setting are exceptionally conducive to the game. International teams visit Barbados regularly and make for exciting afternoons. Matches start promptly at 4:30pm and there is usually afternoon tea or an evening BBQ available.
